The report on Law & Order and facilitation of essential goods and services in the State on COVID-19 lock down as on 15th May has been issued by the Joint Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Home Department, Hiazu Meru.

Stating that 1(one) person violated the lock down and 3(three) persons were bound down, the report also said that fines were imposed on 276(two hundred and seventy six) vehicles under various sections of the MV Act and Rs. 47,000/- was also collected.

On essential goods, the report stated that shops for food grains, milk and groceries were all opened and made it available in all the districts except Mokokchung. It also added that medicines were available in all the districts and that there was no shortage of essential goods in the State as per the report.

The movements of essential service providers like electricity, telecom facilities, medical facilities etc and personnel/workers in manufacturing units and commercial vehicles for distribution of essential commodities and e-commerce agents was not restricted in the State.

It was also informed that there are 4(four) active relief camps where 61(sixty one) migrant labourers are housed. Further, there are 4(four) active food camps where more than 800(eight hundred) daily wagers/needy persons were provided with food/dry rations.
