The G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation among its members who are the world’s major economies, representing 85% of global economic output, two-thirds of the world’s population, and 75% of international trade. It comprises 19 countries and an organization of countries known as the European Union members. The members of G20 are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkey, United Kingdom, United States, and the European Union.

You are aware that India has assumed the Presidency of the Group of Twenty (G20) from 1st December 2022, for a year and has re-emphasized that we are one of the most aspirational nations and also one of the youngest with the median age being 29 years. The

Prime Minister’s vision for G20 Presidency is that ‘India’s G20 Presidency will work to promote this universal sense of oneness'. Hence, our theme is “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” or “One Earth. One Family. One Future”.

In this regard, the Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of India befits that if our school-going children are allowed to have a glimpse and understand the international scenario, its dynamics, and India’s position in it. This would facilitate and enable them to think critically, innovate, communicate, and be change-makers.

Therefore, to enable the engagement of the youth of the country with the G20, the Ministry of Education had suggested some activities for Schools such as:

  • Students can model the functioning and proceedings of G20 meetings and produce an outcome document at their level.
  • Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) Quiz
  • Slogan Writing Competition on G20

These two quizzes and the slogan writing competition are available at https://quiz.mygov.in

  • Exhibition of best practices of technology-enabled activities -Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) exhibition for school students.
  • Science Exhibitions
