DC Mon, Thavaseelan K. IAS reported that there have been instances where shop owners had charged certain fees while giving quotation to the beneficiaries desiring to avail loan under PMEGP scheme. He stated that such practices are in violation of the directives issued by the government. 

Therefore, all shop owners have been directed to stop such practices. Any violator(s) will be penalised under relevant provision of the law and their shop permits will be cancelled. 

In another notification the DC Mon has issued the following advisories :

  • Animals cannot transmit COVID-19 (World Health Organization)
  • The shoot-at-sight orders issued by ward or village authorities/individuals/groups is a criminal offence under The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. If anyone harms or threatens your pet, you have every right to file a First Information Report (FIR)
  • Committing mischief by harming/Killing animals can lead to imprisonment for 2 years or more (Section 428/429 of Indian Penal Code)
  • Thousands of people feed street animals in the cities. It's a kind gesture that you can do too.
  • We are a civilised Christian society and should never promote a culture where people are free to shoot, destroy or steal any property (living and non-living) at all costs. Let's set an example of kindness and safety for the younger generations
  • We encourage each and everyone of you to take care of your pets, walk them on a leash and keep them clean and hygienic at all times
  • We request you all to practice kindness and adopt a humane approach especially at this time when the world is suffering. COVID-19 has already taken away so much from us. Spread kindness and love towards all living beings.
  • Pet owners are requested to vaccinate your pets and feed them on time.
  • Please make time to walk your dog for about 30 minutes at the least.
