A dedicatory program for the installation of CCTV cameras and the introduction of breath analyzers was held on 17th April 2025 at the Control Room of the Police Station, Wokha. The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Vineet Kumar, IAS, Superintendent of Police Wokha, M. Rhovisie Nyuwi, IPS, members of the Road Safety Committee Wokha, along with other officials.

The program commenced with speeches from Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar and Superintendent of Police M. Rhovisie Nyuwi. In his address, the Deputy Commissioner expressed his appreciation to the Road Safety Committee Wokha for their commendable initiative. He also acknowledged the Transport Department for providing funding for the purchase of the equipments and emphasized the critical role enforcement agencies play in ensuring the proper utilization of these tools, particularly in monitoring and curbing illegal activities within the town. The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of using breath analyzers for detecting drunk drivers, thereby contributing to road safety measures.

The Superintendent of Police extended his gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for his initiative and continued support. He underscored the significance of the program in enhancing traffic regulation and improving road safety. Additionally, he encouraged enforcement agencies and line departments to commit themselves to utilize the equipments effectively, dedicating time and energy to its proper implementation.

The program was chaired by SDO (Civil) Wokha, Nuhuta Tunyi, who provided an overview of the initiative and shared details about the installation of CCTV cameras. He highlighted that a total of five cameras have been installed in key areas of the town, with plans to upgrade to 15 cameras at strategic locations. These installations aim to address issues such as drug abuse, alcohol consumption, and road safety concerns, ultimately ensuring the well-being of the general public.

The dedicatory program marked a significant step toward enhancing safety measures in Wokha town, with the collaboration of various departments and enforcement agencies committed to maintaining law and order and prioritizing public safety.
