A Pre-site visit for Tree Plantation under AMRUT Mitra ‘Women for Trees Campaign’ was conducted on 23rd May, 2025 at Dimapur.

“Women for Trees” campaign -an AMRUT Mitra initiative launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) is an effort to combine environmental sustainability with women’s empowerment in urban areas. The campaign is being carried out under AMRUT Mitra in convergence with DAY-NULM under Urban Development Department.

As per of the Phase-I campaign, a pre-site visit to IHSDP Housing Complex, Burma Camp was conducted by officials from District Urban Development Agency, Dimapur along with Eminent SHGs wherein the SHGs assess the area for suitability and number of trees to be planted in and around the complex. Further, the SHGs also suggested the type of trees than can be undertaken for plantation. The team was led by Ekumyala, City Nodal Officer along with other DUDA officials.
