The office of the District Public Relations Officer (DPRO), Mon organised the first ever Carrom Championship 2025 on 17th October 2025 at DPRO Officer Mon. The games were categorized as Single and Double. The objective of the tournament was to build team spirit and promote healthy relationship among the colleagues spread across information centres and APRO offices in the district.

Information Assistant Mon, M Pelih, welcomed the members, and extended gratitude to the DPRO Mon for taking the initiatives in organising this tournament. She said organizing a tournament of this kind is not just about playing a game, but it is about bringing people together, building team spirit, and promoting healthy interaction among colleagues and friends spread across the district. This event reflects the spirit of unity and cooperation that IPR department upholds in Mon.

She also said that Sports and recreation, in simple forms like carrom, plays a vital role in our professional and personal lives. In our daily office duties, and public service, we often forget the importance of relaxation and mental refreshment. Carrom, though a small indoor game, teaches us valuable lessons of patience, strategy, focus, and coordination. It reminds us that success comes not only from strength but also from precision, calmness, and teamwork. The tournament is an opportunity to interact beyond our work desks, to know each other better, and to build lasting friendships. A healthy work environment is one where colleagues can share both responsibilities and laughter and this tournament is a step in that direction, she added.

She also said that this tournament will inspire us, not only in sports but in cultural and creative activities that nurture unity and motivation among all officers and staff under the DPRO. It showcase IPR department's values not just efficiency in work, but also the well-being and morale of its employees. She encouraged every participant to play in the true spirit of sportsmanship. Winning is wonderful, but what matters most is participation, enjoyment, and the spirit of togetherness, she said.  And later she declared the tournament open.
