The Department of School Education has notified that in continuation to notification number dated 08.08.2025, applications are invited from eligible indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland for filling up the post of Special Education Graduate Teacher under School Education Department, Government of Nagaland.

Eligible Contractual Special Education Teachers/Inclusive Education Resource Persons serving under Centrally Sponsored Schemes/Government Schools as well as Fresh Candidates with the requisite qualifications may apply.

Requisite Qualifications: The candidate applying must be a Registration Certificate of Rehabilitation of    India (RCI); Graduate with B.Ed. (Special Education)/B.Ed. (General) with one year Diploma in Special Education/B.Ed. (General) with two-year Diploma in Special Education/B.Ed. (General) with Post Graduate Professional Diploma in Special Education (PGPC)/B.Ed. Special Education and Post Graduate Professional Certificate in Special Education (PGPC) or PG Diploma in Special Education (Mental Retardation) or PG Diploma in Special Education (Multiple Disability: Physical & Neurological) or PG Diploma in Special Education (Locomotor Impairment and Cerebral Palsy) or Secondary level Teacher Training Course in Visual Impairment or Senior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf or BA B.Ed. in Visual Impairment or Any other equivalent qualification approved by RCI

Documents to be submitted: Application in prescribed format (available from the Departments website); Admit Card of HSLC; Mark sheets and Degree certificate of Graduation.; Valid Rehabilitation Council of India(RCI) certificate; In case of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), they shall submit Disability Certificates issued by Competent Medical Authority; No Objection Certificate and Performance Report from the Head of Department (HOD); ST / Indigenous Certificate issued by Competent Authority; 2(Two) recent passport size photograph.

Original documents to be presented on the day of Screening cum Selection:

General Instructions: Selection process will be through screening in pursuance to the Supreme Court Order dated 07/03/2025in W.P. (C)132 of 2016 & 876 of 2017. The decision of the Screening Committee will be final and binding. 

Applicants are advised to ensure, before applying, that they possess the minimum essential qualification. If on verification at any stage of the examination, it is found that candidates do not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions their candidature for the post shall be cancelled by the Screening Committee without notice.

The selected candidates shall be placed on probation for a period of two years and shall draw a consolidated pay equivalent to the prevailing norms. On selection and appointment, the benefit of pay scale to the erstwhile Contractual Special Education Teacher shall be prospective and not retrospective.

In case of any dispute that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the Screening Committee shall be final.

Important Dates: Date of publication of notification/addendum: 28/11/2025. Last date for submission of application: 04/12/2025 (till 4:00 PM). Short listing of eligible candidates to be notified: 05/12/2025.

The number of Posts to be filled by fresh candidates will be subject to the number of Posts left after screening and selection of the in-service Special Education Teachers in pursuance of the Hon’ble Supreme Court dated 07/03/2025 in W.P © 132 of 2016 & 876 of 2017.
