A sensitisation campaign on solid waste management, including the proper segregation of wet and dry waste and the reduction of single-use plastic, was conducted at Wutsi Ward, Meluri Town, on September 30, 2026.

During the campaign, Ward Chairperson Zürhotshü Kajiri highlighted the importance of proper waste segregation, particularly the separate management of wet and dry waste, and sensitised the citizens on the harmful effects of single-use plastics and the need for responsible waste disposal practices.

She also deliberated on various measures to improve waste management in the ward and encouraged citizens to adopt sustainable practices for a cleaner and healthier environment.

The programme also provided an opportunity for the public to interact, raise their grievances and share their concerns regarding waste management, while discussing possible solutions and future measures for effective implementation.

The Ward Chairperson urged all citizens to extend their cooperation and actively participate in maintaining cleanliness and proper waste management for the welfare of Wutsi Ward as well as Meluri Town as a whole.
