A farewell program was held in honor of the outgoing Director of Information Technology & Communication, Er. Tongtiliba Longkumer at the Conference Hall of the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DITC) on August 31, 2023.
During the event, Advisor IT&C, H. Sethrongkyu Sangtam, delivered a brief speech expressing his gratitude and appreciation for Er. Tongtiliba Longkumer's dedicated service to the department and his valuable contributions in terms of knowledge and expertise.
Er. Tongtiliba Longkumer, the outgoing Director, acknowledged the professionalism and efficiency of the officers and staff he had the privilege to work with. He urged them to continue upholding professionalism in the dynamic world of IT and Communication, emphasizing their role as a driving force for good governance.
Er. Chura Katiry, while presenting a summary of the outgoing Director's service record, highlighted several significant achievements under his leadership. These achievements included the formulation of key policies such as the IT policy of 2004, eProcurement Policy 2018, Telecom Policy 2019, and eWaste Policy 2016. Additionally, the establishment of the State Data Centre and STPI were also credited to his tenure.
Er. Katiry further noted the initiation of various online services, such as the online application system for NPSC exams, Scholarships single window system, State Portal, ILP, CMHIS e-Vigilance system, and the integration of social media and websites in all Government departments for effective dissemination of government activities and programs.
He highlighted the recognition received during Er. Tongtiliba Longkumer's tenure, including the CSI-Nihilent Award 2017 as the Best Performing State in the Northeast Region in e-Governance, the Northeast Tech Sabha - Enterprise Application Award by Indian Express Group 2018, and top rankings in the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NESDA) and State Portal Accessibility categories among North Eastern and Hill States.
