The 80th Independence Day was celebrated at the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Jakhama, on August 15, 2026. The programme began with the singing of the National Song, followed by the Rashtriya Salute and the National Anthem.

SDO (C) Jakhama, Vineikho Tetso, NCS, hoisted the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute from the contingent of Khuzama Police Station led by OC, Inspector Joseph Zeliang. The SDO (C) also delivered an Independence Day speech.

The programme was attended by officers and staff under Jakhama Sub-Division, Dobashis (DBs), Gaon Buras (GBs), and Village Council Chairmen from the Southern Angami area.

The programme concluded with the National Song and National Anthem.
