Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, (JNV) Lewoza, Zuketsa under Phek joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi's interaction with students of India and abroad from standard nine and above at Talikatora Stadium, New Delhi on 1st April 2022.
The purpose of the interaction with the students live was to promote innovation and answer key questions for the yearly board examinations. The video conference interaction was started in 2018 (Pariksha Pe Charcha: Pariksha- Exam; Charcha- discussion) by Prime Minister Modi to eliminate tension, stress that leads to suicide, Principal JNV Zuketsa, Himanshu Kumar said.
The JNV Zuketsa students and teachers watched and witnessed the various displays and demonstrations by students and Prime Minister's inspection and interactions.
The Principal said the temporary site of the JNV was built in 1995 in Zuketsa and shifted to Lewoza permanent site in the year 2006. He said the Government has planned to set up JNV in every district of the country. Tamil Nadu is the only state which has no JNV so far.
The JNV provides free textbooks, uniforms, food, bedding, and toilet items for ST and SC students whereas Rs. 600/- per month is being charged for the general category. The JNV Lewoza is affiliated with CBSE. As per the norms intake of students was 540 whereas the present enrollment in Lewoza is less than 50% due lack of awareness from the parents, he said.
Kumar said the JNV was launched by then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in the year 1986 and the JNV Lewoza has Arts and Humanities and JNV Rüsoma has science stream.
