The Kiphire District Legal Services Authority under the aegis of NALSA organized Mini Camp at Kiphire on 23rd April 2022 at the public ground with the Judge Gauhati High Court, Executive Chairman NALSA Portfolio Judge of Kiphire District, Justice Songkhupchung Serto as special guest.
While addressing the public gathering, Serto said that Mini Camp is organized with the stalls set up by various departments to highlight various schemes, awareness, and activities for the benefit of the people in the district being provided by the Government of India. He said that everyone has the right to avail of the benefits in the proper way. Serto said that one's profession is chosen by God to serve the people but not to rule the people, and urged the government servants to make a difference in their district by their presence and contribution.
Serto, while emphasizing the education sector, said that education is important for children, and without education, children have no future he added. He also said that the village authorities and teachers are responsible to take care of the children by providing quality education as the government has provided good infrastructure for better education.
Nino Eralu, NJS Secretary (Judicial) Law & Justice department in her address said that Mini Camp is being organized to provide opportunities to the people under various departments and said that District Legal Services Authority is set in the district to assist people with any queries and help.
And addressing the gathering Neiko Akami, NJS Registrar, Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench said that DLSA is set up in the district to provide opportunities for free legal aid from grass root level to the highest level under the legal Act, and said that everyone can avail the opportunity.
Awareness of three schemes and activities under the departments of Social Welfare, Health & Family Welfare, and right to education was highlighted by Advocate, Bendangwati Sangtam, Michael, and Advocate, Limkhushi respectively.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by NJS, District & Session Judge cum Chairman DLSA Kiphire, N. Longshithung, the vote of thanks was proposed by NJS CJM cum Secretary DLSA, Kiphire, Phuleto Yaptho, and the program moderator was DPA, Kiphire, Rebeca T Sangtam. The chief guest also inaugurated stalls put up by various departments. The program was attended by tribal hohos, NGOs, Church leaders, Government Officials, GBs, and the public.
