Department of Water Resources launched the Kapoki MI project at Zunheboto Village on 10th April, 2021 under the scheme PMKSY-Har Khel Ko Pani 270 batch. The project is implemented under the Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoWR, RD&GR) with an estimated cost of Rs. 94,06,880. The work commenced in 2018-19 and was completed in 2019-20.
With the construction of this project and the improved irrigation facilities, farmers can now undertake multiple cropping. The project was implemented with an active participation of the farmers so as to promote participatory irrigation management (PIM) in the irrigation system. As has been the practice of the Department, the project being completed will now be handed over to the beneficiaries for their use and future maintenance.
The programme was chaired by Er. Huskha Yepto, Executive Engineer WRD and DC Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo, was the special guest.
