KENEIZHAKHO NAKHRO ADDRESSES KOHIMA DPDB AS NEW CHAIRMAN

The monthly Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of the new Kohima DPDB Chairman, MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro at DPDB's conference hall, Kohima on 17th May 2022.

Addressing the members, Nakhro expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio for assigning him the task to be the new DPDB Chairman and also thanked the members for accepting his appointment. He said the task would be his first experience holding the public office and assured to deliver his best services as the chairman. He expects the members to contribute constructive criticism, suggestion, and guidance for the welfare of the society and the development of the district.

Advisor, Technical Education & Elections, the former DPDB Chairman, Medo Yhokha congratulated Nakhro and wished him the best in addressing the social and public issues and carrying out the government policies at the grass-root levels. He also conveyed a few concerns on the issues of unregulated cable lines, unregulated local taxis, and mushrooming of business-oriented tuition centres in the town, which could not be fully materialized amidst the pandemic, and hope that together the DPDB would come out with new innovative ideas and address such issues.

Chairing the meeting, DC & Vice Chairman DPDB, Gregory Thejawelie, IAS welcomed Nakhro as the new Kohima DPDB chairman and assured on behalf of the board members to give the fullest cooperation so as to bring further development for the welfare of the district people.

On the agenda of opening a new school - Asain Christian School at Chandmari, Kohima, the house deliberated on the important issues of space availability and feasibility of opening the school in the urban area and decided to conduct physical verification of the spot by the concerned committee and to submit its report in the next meeting.

On recognition and up-gradation of 10 NAP IR at Zhadima, the house decided to recommend the matter to the government for further necessary action.
