Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu celebrated its 50th year of academic establishment on 29th October 2022 with Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio as the special guest at Multipurpose Hall, KPA.

Addressing the gathering the chief minister thanked the dedication of the faculties for enabling many students to pass out from the institution. He lauded the land owners who donated the land and cooperated in establishing the institution. He appealed to the public of the area saying they are the guardians of the institute and hope they will continue to look after it as they are doing. He was happy to know that the institute has been accredited. The people of the area, and faculties should have a combined effort to attract more students from the state and outside as well. Now that the institution is trying to be a full-fledged engineering institution, he said the government will give its full cooperation to pursue it.

It all depends on everyone for the institute to progress and to become a center of excellence, as the world is becoming technical we have to be experts in every way for which networking is essential, we have to work together to make Nagaland a technical state, he exhorted.

He urged the people to unite and said that without unity we cannot progress, unity is the need of the hour, Nagas should set aside all sorts of tribalism and work towards naga unity and Nagaism. The government of India has recognized the unique identity of the Nagas and that it is up to them to be united to achieve their goals.

Earlier on arrival, Chief Minister unveiled the 50th anniversary stone.

The celebration programme was chaired by Medo Yhokha, Advisor Technical Education and Election, welcome address was given by Er. M Nakro, Director of Technical Education, a short speech by Er Picto Shohe, MLA, and a vote of thanks by Er Neikhrove Pfuno, Principal KPA.

The chief minister was accompanied by Temjen Imma Along, Minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, K.T. Sukhalu, Advisor School Education. Officials from the Technical Education department.

Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Sumi Hoho, and Sumi Totimi Hoho also attended the celebration.
