The Kohima District Level Committee for implementation of New India @75 activities was held at DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima on 3rd September 2021. The meeting was chaired by ADC Kohima, N. Bhavani Sri,IAS.
Chairing the meeting, Bhavani highlighted the role of the district level committee, where she informed that the district level activities will comprise of two major activities – conduct of awareness drive at the identified schools and colleges on the three themes (HIV, TB and Blood Donation) and coordinate with the identified schools and colleges for the competition activities.
The meeting therefore nominated some members and constituted sub-committee for awareness drive to carry out the awareness activities and also sub-committee for screening and competition for assessment and declaration of the results. ADC further requested all the members to work together and take forward the activities for the successful implementation of the programme in the district.
District Program Officer, SentimonglaTzudir also highlighted on the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society strategy plan of New India@ 75 to be implemented under the aegis of National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO). She informed that the NACO has planned to conduct three awareness campaigns on three phased manner namely HIV, TB and Blood donation. After the awareness campaign, online competitions on four concepts on these three themes will be carried out where prize money along with certificates will be provided to the winners for each concept on each time. The target group of the campaign coverage is school students of classes (9 and 11) and Red Ribbon Club members in the colleges /Institute.
DPO also informed that for Kohima district, the strategy plan remains the same for all the three phases, however the timeline will be intimated on phase wise manner after approval from the State Level Committee. For the first phase, six schools and six colleges have been selected in the district for the programme where awareness drive on HIV, TB and Blood donation will be taken up within the next few days.
