The Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) organised a felicitation of the 14th High School Leaving Certificate Examination Topper 2022 amongst Government High Schools in Kohima district at DPDB Conference Hall Kohima on 15th June 2022.
MLA and Vice Chairman DPDB Kohima, Keneizakho Nakhro gave away the certificate of Merit and cash money of Rs. 20,000/- to Vesulhulu, the Government High Schools HSLC 2022 topper during the programme.
Speaking at the occasion, Advisor Urban Development, Municipal Affairs & Smart City, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire congratulated the topper Vesulhulu and the school for the achievement and added that it was a proud moment for the school to have a topper amongst the government schools.
Dr. Nicky said that Dr. Neilhouzhu Kire was his father who was the first matriculate in Nagaland in the year 1918 and expressed happiness to see Vesulhulu with distinction marks in all the subjects and the good performance of other students from various tribes from the school.
Stating that Government teachers were more qualified, Dr. Nicky encouraged the government school to produce more better result while citing the example of Mizoram toppers were always from government schools.
Dr. Nicky also encouraged the passed out students to decide carefully in choosing their subject matters and not to go with whatever subjects their friends opted.
The new Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of DPDB Kohima, Shanavas C. IAS while welcoming the members expressed his happiness to be part of the programme right after coming back from Education Department as Principal Director for three years.
Short speeches were also delivered by HSLC 2022 Topper, Vesulhulu and Rose Chishi the Vice Principal of Dr. Neilhouzhu Kire Govt. Hr. Sec. School Seikhazou Kohima. Vote of thanks was delivered by District Education Officer, Kohima, Emilo.
