The monthly Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Advisor for Technical Education and Election, Medo Yhokha at DPDB Conference Hall, Kohima on 17th February 2022.
The meeting chaired by DPO & Member Secretary DPDB, Pudusul Luho reviewed the last meeting minutes. On the agenda of the proposal for reconsideration of shifting Sumo parking site to KMC parking site submitted by various institutes at Jotsoma, the House deliberated on the issues and decided to take up the matter after necessary consultation with the concerned authorities.
On registration of societies, Medo Yhokha suggested that DPDB may streamline the verification system by involving concerned departments to look into the matters and give their opinions to the sub-committee of DPDB for verification and then to DPDB for recommendation to the Government.
Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire also suggested that the concerned area administrative officers and the verifying committee share their opinions on the matters in the DPDB Meeting so as to bring up a strong society in our district.
Other members also shared their opinions and suggestions on the issues for the betterment and benefit of the people.
The House after much deliberation on the agenda decided to recommend five societies that presented their aims and objective to the Government for further necessary action.
Besides the agenda, Medo also pointed out the mushrooming of unwarranted tuition centres in Kohima and suggested that concerned departments along with student bodies be involved to recommend the matter after proper survey and study in order to streamline the whole system.
Medo Yhokha, in his concluding remark, appreciated the initiatives and efforts contributed by the district officers and encouraged them to continue their efforts towards the development of the district. He also asked the members to come up with a proposal for the development of Kohima town and further requested them to be more active and come up with more creative ideas in the next meeting.
