An emergency meeting of Kohima District Task Force on COVID-19 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kohima Gregory Thejawelie NCS in presence of Minister incharge of Kohima District Minister PWD (Housing and Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum was held in DC's Conference Hall Kohima on 29th April 2021.

The meeting was convened to decide certain measures to be implemented in the district by the DTF as per the consolidated guidelines issued by the State Government. On regulation of entry point at Khuzama Check Gate, DTF decided Sr. S.P Kohima to regulate and implement necessary measure for the commuters.

For occupancy of passengers in vehicles, it was decided to implement 50% of passengers to be enforced. DTF also decided to open ways for other organisations besides the All Kohima Ward Municipal Panchayats (AKMWP) to assist towards the implementation of COVID appropriate behaviour in the district.

On opening and closure of markets, it was decided to curtail the movement of people in crowded places where DTF entrusted KMC to work out the system for implementation. It was also decided to curtail the timing of the market at Old MLA junction and KMC to strictly instruct the vendors to follow Covid protocols. 

On the preparedness level of ICU set up at Meriema Covid Care Centre, Dr. Sendimeren Aonok who recently joined as the Medical Superintendent NHAK informed on the status of ICU set up where few technical things have been projected to the department for necessary action. Meanwhile six ICU bedded facilities have been prepared in the Isolation ward at NHAK as decided and was activated and functional where two critical patients were admitted at present.

In regard to power supply issue at Meriema CCC, DTF decided to propose for uninterrupted power supply to the power department and also as highlighted by MS NHAK, requirement of 80 KV generator back up was also noted to take up with the concerned department for fully set up of ICU at the centre.

The Deputy Commissioner also informed that keeping in view with the second wave throughout the country certain measures have been initiated by DTF in regard to enforcement drive on mandatory wearing of masks, random sample collection in the district and thanked all concerned officials involved in the exercises for making it possible. He also appreciated SDO (c) Sechü Zubza for taking initiative in checking Covid appropriate behavior along the national highway and hoped that his other Administrative officers will also take up soon in their respective areas.

INSTRUCTION FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORT OWNERS IN MON

 

In order to facilitate contact tracing of persons affected with Covid-19 in the future, DC Mon Thavaseelan K IAS on 29th April 2021 issued an order with the following instructions for all public transport owners (Bus/Sumo):

  1. All Public/Private Transport counters functioning within Mon District shall mandatorily maintain a register to record details of all passengers on a daily basis. 
  2. The register should compulsorily contain date wise information with detailed address and contact number of each passenger. 
  3. Private Transport Association, Mon will be responsible for its implementation. 
  4. The District Transport Officer shall ensure strict enforcement of the order and initiate regular checking of the same.
