Kohima District Task Force (DTF) on Covid-19 in its virtual meeting held on 19thJune 2021 reviewed COVID-19 status in the district. The meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DTF Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS. 

       Minister in-charge for Kohima district, Minister PWD (Housing and Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum along with Advisor Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Dr.Neikiesalie Nicky Kire and Advisor for Technical Education and Election, Medo Yhokha, Sr. S.P Kohima, Kevithutuo Sophie, CMO Kohima, Dr.Vezokholu Theyo and other DTF members participated in the meeting.

Reviewing the Covid status in the district, DTF felt that the improvement in the present situation in the area of testing, positivity rate, hospitalisation and vaccination in the district was in view of various lockdown measures implemented so far. Keeping that in mind, the DTF has decided to strictly enforce and monitor the implementation of the lockdown measures put in place by the Government during this present lockdown.

On the vaccination drive, which has been scaled up with additional outreach sessions by the medical team targeting all eligible beneficiaries to get the vaccine, the DTF has informed that all required measures have been undertaken to achieve the target of vaccinating all eligible beneficiaries in the urban and rural areas under the district.

The meeting also deliberated on opening of more shops put forth by the KCCI, where the DTF informed that the district adopts only which have been exempted as per the directives issued by the Government. Moreover, the DTF observed that with more relaxations, increase of mobility was a concerned, therefore it was decided to put forward to the HPC if situation comes to certain comfortable extend. 

The DTF also reiterated that the timing of total ban from 4:00 P.M to 5:00 A.M w.e.f 19th to 30th June 2021 in the district will be applicable to all the general public movement whereas permitted activities will be allowed under the purview.
