Longleng District Legal Services Authority under the aegis of NSLSA and in celebration of 75th years of India's independence, "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsov", conducted a legal awareness programme on Lok Adalat, Right To Information, Right to Education, Food Security Act, 2013 and Pension Schemes under Social Welfare on 30th October 2021 at PBCA conference hall, Longleng with Executive chairmen, NSLSA and Judge, Gauhati High Court, Justice S. Serto as special guest.

Justice S. Serto, in his address said that the attempt of the legal services authority is to spread awareness in every district and village on Right to Education, Food security and Medical facilities etc. He stated that he always wanted to share the three awareness topics in every function, adding that if the people are aware of the three facilities in life, 70% of the problems will be solved.  Serto said that in all government schools, primary education for children till class eight are looked after by the government so he urged the gathering to avail the opportunity.

Justice Serto said that in the district, Legal Services Authority office and court in villages are to assist and guide the people. He also said that the programme was a humble effort towards empowering the people about the right entitlement. He lamented that most government schools teachers in rural areas neglect their duties and deprive the children of proper education. He urged the teachers to take responsibility for the community by educating the children.

Principal Secretary, Justice and Law, R. Ramakrishna, IAS also spoke at the programme. In technical session the Panel Lawyer played an act on Right to Education Act 2009,-PL, (Adv) Panglang.Y. Phom. Food Security Act, 2013-PL, (Adv) Chingmei Phom. Pension schemes under social welfare department - PA,(Adv) P. Monyei Phom. Lok Adalat - PA, (Adv) P. Monyei Phom. Eastern blind care home presented a special song in Manipuri. The programme was chaired by Adv. A. Mane Phom, Retainer Lawyer, Longleng DLSA.
