LEGISLATORS & DTF FOR KOHIMA COVID-19 VISITS HEALTH CENTRES AT WESTERN ANGAMI AREA

As preparatory measures to fight against the COVID-19, the Legislators and District Task Force (DTF) for Kohima COVID-19 visited Isolation wards/health centers located at Western Angami area on 6th April 2020 to assess the availability of medical facilities and also to examine the status of preparations undertaken at the centers.

The team led by Legislators in-charge of Kohima district, Minister for Housing and Mechanical, Tongpang Ozukum and Advisor Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire along with MLA, Keneizhakho Nakhro, DC Kohima Gregory Thejawelie NCS, Sr. SP Kohima K. Sophie, CMO Kohima Dr. Vezokholu and other DTF members accompanied by area leaders visited the Isolation Wards/Primary Health Centers of Jotsoma, Khonoma, Mezoma and Sechü.

During their visit, Minister Tongpang and Advisor, Dr. Nicky interacted with the health workers and community leaders and lauded their efforts towards preparedness and precautionary measures undertaken at the village levels in monitoring and safeguarding their villages. They further appealed the health workers and community leaders for their continuous supports and also to create awareness and sensitize their people to strictly follow the Government's guidelines and directives in their respective villages.

The Medical Officers/health workers and community leaders highlighted the availability of medical facilities and preparedness status of their respective villages. They also highlighted on the requirement for more medical facilities in regard to equipments, medicines and medical personnel at some centres, where the legislators and DTF assured to address the issues, which can be taken care at the DTF level and also to take up other issues with the higher level authority.

The leaders of Western Angami Public Organisations also thanked the team led by the Legislators for having concern of the area people by visiting them and took note of their grievances for further necessary action.
