The Longleng District Planning & Development Board meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dharam Raj on 6th October 2022 at the DPDB hall.

Addressing the DPDB members, the DC asserted that DPDB is an important platform where the development activities of the district are discussed to take appropriate decisions for the welfare of the people. DC pointed out that a positive attitude and active participation of the members and HoOs are required for a positive outcome. Dharam Raj further said that DPDB is also an important platform for every HoOs and members to coordinate and learn each other's activities through the PowerPoint presentation in every meeting.

While the presentation of the agendas for registration of the societies, the DC informed the members to scrutinize the motives of the society before the application is submitted to the DPDB for forwarding to the government.

The members had a healthy debate on safe drinking water and Plastic Waste Management Unit (PWMU) after the PowerPoint presentation by the PHED department.

The members emphasize underground water quality testing from different zones of the district and issue public advisory awareness, identifying safe drinking water availability in the district.

The board also stressed on plastic waste management unit for the safe disposal of plastic waste without hazards to lives and the environment. The board urged the PHED department to identify agencies for the disposal of plastic waste for recycling.

            Earlier, the board forwarded the agendas for the registration of society submitted by the Kangching Shutheivongangla, Tamlu, and the expansion of public ground submitted by the Kangching village council and Students' Union respectively.

The DC directed the Social Welfare Department to present its departmental activities in the next DPDB meeting.
