The Longleng District Planning & Development Board meeting for June was held under the chairmanship of Chairman DPDB & MLA, B.S. Nganlang Phom at DPDB hall, Longleng on 6th June 2022.

The Chairman extended his appreciation to the members for their proactive services rendered for the development of the district. Acknowledging the dedication and sincerity of CMO Longleng, Dr. Obangjungla for her humanitarian service provided to the people of the district. Nganlang said he was very happy to see one of the DPDB members being honoured with Phom Day Award 2022 for her exemplary service by the Governor of Assam & Nagaland Prof. Jagdish Mukhi on the occasion of Phom Day. He exhorted the members to continue with the same spirit and wisdom to cater the best service to the people. He also urged the members to extend full cooperation and support to the forthcoming State Badminton Championship Tournament to be held in Longleng from August 22nd to 27th. 

Deputy Commissioner Longleng, M. Shayung Phom extended his gratitude to the members for their cooperation and support rendered to him during his tenure as the Deputy Commissioner of the district. Sharing the bitter experience of the Covid-19 Pandemic, he thanked the frontline workers and officers for their yeoman service during the most difficult situation. Asserting that it was his last DPDB meeting in Longleng, he expressed optimism that the selection of Iconic Projects in the DPDB will accomplish the urgent need of the district. Phom also thanked the DIO, NIC Mokokchung, Temsu Wathi Ao who is also looking after NIC, Longleng for resolving the poor internet connection in the district and also for providing internet facility to Yingli College and SP office.

While presenting the activities, services provided, recruitment and the functioning of the NIC, Temsu Wathi emphasized the importance of Information Technologies for running the office efficiently. The DIO also said that NIC provides free internet connection to Government offices provided the cost of cable connection will be borne by the concerned department. He appealed to the officers to opt for NIC for free and safe internet connection. He further mentioned that the NIC team Longleng is planning for a standby line in the district alternative to BSNL to provide uninterrupted internet facilities in the district.

The board approved the LADP 2022-23 for 49 A/C Tamlu and 50 A/C Longleng and recommended a grant of financial assistance to Lamling Vesta Elementary School, Longleng. The Board also constituted an Organizing Committee headed by the DC & DSC chairman and members comprising government officers and civil societies for hosting the State Badminton Championship Tournament in Longleng. The President DBA, Longleng Er. Toshi Angh and his colleagues highlighted the ongoing preparation, infrastructure development, and required funds for the mega sports event. They sought maximum cooperation and support from the members.     

Earlier, Dr. Sanjay A Burele, (Scientist), Central Nodal Officer for Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA), CTR for Mon and Longleng district, and Ruchir Mital, Director (PW) Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension, Department of Pension & Pensioners Welfare spoke and highlighted on Jal Shakti Abhiyan for sustainable drinking water supply management in the district.
