In view of the World Environment Day celebration 2022 and as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Town Council Noklak in collaboration with Ward Union, District Administration, District Election Office, Community Based Organizations, Schools, and other departments organized a mass plantation drive at Noklak on the 4th June 2022 in view of 5th June being Sunday. The plantation saw participation from all walks of life. Around 2000 saplings were planted in and around the town. During the brief kick-off progamme held at the DC Office complex, Hiazu Meru, Deputy Commissioner, Noklak encouraged the participants to be mindful of the environment which has already been severely challenged. C. Phuniang, Administrator, Noklak Town Council asked the gathering to give back trees to the earth in return for their usage by us. M. Thangou, President KTC delivered a short speech while Hempao Lam executive Secretary of KBCA offered a prayer. The programme was chaired by Imkong Lam, President Noklak Town Sector Union.
Meanwhile, in commemoration, the Indian Red Cross Society, Noklak branch organized a programme of distributing sanitary pads to the women vendors of daily Bazaar, Noklak town on 04th June 2022 at Noklak Town.
Speaking on the occasion, Superintendent of Police, Noklak, Dr. Pritpal Kaur, IPS briefed on the menstrual hygiene, usage of sanitary pads/cloths, and how to dispose of them.
