            As per the directive of the State Government, a mass social work was conducted at Kohima on 23rd March 2022 with the involvement of State Government employees and the general public led by the District Administration in supervising and monitoring the activities.

The social work was conducted in view of the South Asian Athletic Federation (SAAF) Cross Country Championships & 56th National Cross Country Championships, scheduled to be held in Kohima on 26th March 2022.

Government employees from various departments spearheaded the activities in respective designated areas from the stretch of New Reserve via main town to IG Stadium and Secretariat; PHQ junction to Old CM Bungalow (State Guest House); Bye pass check gate - paramedical to TCP gate; Classic Island to NH (via officers' hill road; NHAK to Tinpati/Census office and NBCC to Meriema High Court junction.

During the social work, wastes including debris and building materials along the stretch roads and paths were removed and disposed off. Civil Society Organizations, Wards/ village/ colony functionaries and the general public also assisted in their respective areas. . 

Departments with machineries namely backhoe loader, dumper trucks, trucks etc. assisted in disposing the waste materials and debris during the social works.
