In line with the clarion call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to phase out Single-Use Plastics in the country w.e.f 1st July 2022, the Nagaland State's Special Task Force on Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules 205/ reviewed the Draft Comprehensive Action Plan on the elimination of Single-Use Plastics (SUPs) on 2nd June 2022 under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Nagaland at Chief Secretary's Conference Hall, Kohima Nagaland.

All District Task Forces and Urban Local Bodies are to sensitize and create awareness among all the stakeholders for successful enforcement and implementation of the ban on the use of SUPs as notified by the Urban Development Department vide Notification NO. UDD/7-GEN/07-PWM/2018(Pt-I) dated 11th March 2022 (Notified in Nagaland Gazette on 11.03.2022).
