Kohima District Legal Services Authority under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority conducted a Mega Legal Camp on 13th November 2021 at Tseminyu Town hall, with Justice, S.Hukato Swu, Judge, Gauhati High Court as special guest.

In his speech, Justice Swu stated that Articles 39(A) of the Constitution mandates the State to provide free legal aid by making suitable legislation/schemes to ensure opportunities for every section of the society. He added that without legal knowledge, the society will not progress.

Free consulting with the legal team, drafting of affidavits, Lok Adalat pre litigation, counselling, free eye checkup for all age group, on the spot Aadhaar registration, correction name, registration of senior citizens and display of various schemes by different departments were conducted during the camp.

The programme was chaired by Advocate-cum-Panel Lawyer, KDLSA, Keduvi Zhoto while welcome address was delivered by SDO(C) Tseminyu, Tsutsowe Kupa, NCS. Keynote was delivered by Principal District & Session Judge, Kohima and Chairman KDLSA, Y. Longkumer, NJS.
