Under the initiative of District Administration Mon, DC Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS on 20th September 2021 handed over 25 (Twenty Five) Desktops to Wangkhao Government College (WGC) Mon. The Desktops have been donated by Mindtree Foundation based in Bengaluru which aims to make a deep and lasting impact on education, employment and creating a better world for people with disabilities. Mindtree Foundation donated 50 Desktops to Mon District. The remaining Desktops are being distributed to Government Schools and Health Units (CHCs/PHCs) across the District. 

WGC is the only Government College in Mon and with the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) assessment scheduled for 2021, the installation of the Desktops will help the college secure good grades from NAAC as it significantly enhances the student computer ratio. 

The programme was chaired by Asst. Professor, N. Mongyung Phom and Principal WGC, I. Wati Imchen delivered the introductory speech. 

DC Mon, conveyed his gratitude and appreciation to Mindtree Foundation for their kind donation and request for their continued support in augmenting the education infrastructure in the District. 

Vote of thanks was proposed by Asst. Professor and Coordinator for IQAC, Shongya Konyak.
