Minister for Geology and Soil & Water Conservation & Mining, Khashiho Sangtam and  K.T Sukhalu  Advisor for School Education visited Kiphire and held a meeting with the DTF members in relating to Covid - 19 On April 11th, at the DPDB hall,Kiphire.

            The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Sarita Yadav IAS.

            Minister Khashiho while speaking at the meeting lauded the Deputy Commissioner Kiphire and her team the DTF for COVID-19, for taking all measures in order to prevent the dreaded disease. He also thanked all the Civil Societies for co-operating with the District authority including the Police and Village Guards for their service in identifying people at the porous border and safeguarding the District.

            He also requested updated reports in regard  to  shortage of any medical equipment. Army and Police department were reminded to give report in case the supply of their requirement does not arrive on time, and requested the District Authority to continue their efforts. 

            Minister Khashiho donated Rupees one lakh from Geology and Mining, 180 litres of hand sanitzers, 300 Face Masks and 300 gloves for Kiphire District.

            KT Sukhalu said that the Government is taking every effort to extend their support to the needs of all the Districts in the state. He also said that Naga boys and girls stranded in Delhi and other states have been advised to remain where they are. He said that 80 percent of the messages/Rumours circulating in the Social media were 'fake ' and therefore he advised to refrain from forwarding those messages. 

            During the meeting, Chief Medical Officer, Motsuthung appraised on the department Ambulances  which is in need for repair, and in this regard KT Sukhalu asserted that the matter would be put across for consideration.

             Earlier, Advisor KT Sukhalu inaugurated the two-bedded ICU with 1 (one) portable Ventilator installed at the District Hospital Kiphire.
