As a preparedness measure, a district level mock exercise simulating an earthquake and fire incident was conducted at Mon Hq on 19th March 2022. 

An earthquake and fire scenario was created at Home Guards & Civil Defence & SDRF Office building and Christ King School presuming to have collapsed structures due to the earthquake requiring for search and rescue operation in both locations. Two search and rescue teams involving personnel from SDRF, NDRF, Fire & Emergency and Police were dispatch to the locations. 30 casualties were reported and were taken to the medical teams for further treatment after administering first aid. 

The main staging area was set up at the helipad where the NDRF, SDRF and all other line departments and stakeholders reported after the siren was sounded at 11:00 AM to respond to the disaster. A District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) was also set up at the DC Conference Hall.

Incident Commander & ADC Mon, Chinyak Konyak, NCS, while debriefing on the exercise, thanked all the personnel, officers from line departments, other stakeholders and Christ King School for making the mock drill a success. 

The mock drill exercise was organised by District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Mon along with Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority in collaboration with District Administration, Home Guards & Civil Defence & SDRF Mon, 12 BN NDRF, Fire & Emergency Services Mon and Police.
