Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with Mon Town Council Administration organised the celebration of International Women's Day on 8th March 2021 at Council Hall, Mon Town with the theme, "Choose to Challenge". The event was chaired by CDPO Mon Renchano Odyuo.

            Speakers for the event, DPO Mon, T Tauhong Ngonyen, Deputy CMO Mon, Dr. Limatula and SDO Civil Mon HQ Ilika Zhimomi NCS addressed the gathering. The speakers focused on the importance of a girl's education, self-reliance and financial independence for women, female health, role of women as homemakers. The speakers urged upon the participants present to change one's own mindset and embrace the roles and responsibilities of women with confidence. 

            Dr. Limatula further urged upon the participants to avail and spread news about the Phase Three of Covishield Vaccination drive for all those eligible. 

            The occasion also witnessed a felicitation of women Doctors and Administrators by ADC & Administrator Mon Town Council, Rahul Mali, IAS. 

            The event was attended by female officers, Doctors, Administrator and Anganwadi workers.
