The 80th Independence Day was celebrated at Nagaland House, 29-Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam            Road, New Delhi on 15th August 2026 with Deputy Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, S. Toiho Yeptho gracing the occasion as special guest. Joint Resident Commissioner, NH New Delhi, Sharon Longchari led the celebration which was attended by officers and staff of Nagaland House.

            Deputy Speaker, S. Toiho Yeptho after hoisting the national flag received the Rashtriya Salute from 3rd NAP Police. Addressing the gathering, he highlighted some of the progress and developments that are taking place in the State. Earlier during the day, to commemorate the special event, the Deputy Speaker along with the staff of Nagaland House planted tree saplings at Nagaland State Guest House, R. K. Puram, New Delhi.
