Superintendent of Police (Crime) & PRO, PHQ Nagaland, Kohima has informed that based on specific input, Nagaland Police personnel of the Narcotic Cell Mobile Unit intercepted a Guwahati-bound vehicle B/R No. AS01-DB-4512 (Renault Duster Saloon Brown Colour), which was coming from Imphal, near Peducha, Kohima on 01.07.2022 at around 1:10 am. A thorough search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of 100,000/- (one lakh) suspected Yaba Tablets (WY), neatly wrapped with yellow tape in 10 (ten) different packets containing 10,000/- tablets each, and concealed inside a specially built compartment near the spare tyre. The approximate value of the recovered contraband is around Rs. 20 lakh. The suspected contraband items were duly seized and two occupants of the vehicle namely: David Jamkholun Baite (27 years), S/O-Lt. Thangsei Baite, V/O-Chalson Tengnoupal, Dist- Tengnoupal, Manipur, and Thongminthang (31 years), S/O- Lt. Tongpu, V/O- Moreh, Ward No-2, Mission Veng, Dist-Tengnoupal, Manipur were arrested. A case, vide Narcotic Cell Police Station Case No.04/2022 U/S 22 (c)/60 NDPS Act has been registered for further investigation.
