Spokesperson for State Government of Nagaland & Minister for Planning & Coordination Neiba Kronu while highlighting on the status on Nagaland on COVID-19 stated that as of 5 PM, 27th March 2020, a total of 2719 persons including students have self-reported to the respective Surveillance Teams of the Districts and were under home quarantine.  He added that four persons are under facility quarantine while out of the 17 samples that have sent for testing, results for 13 were negative and the remaining four results are awaited.

He also stated that the Minister H&FW, Pangnyu Phom held Video Conferencing with the Chief Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents of all the Districts to review the preparedness against COVID-19 pandemic in the State. He assured the commitment of the Department to address the problems and assist any need based on priority to fight the pandemic.

The Spokesperson added that DC and SP of Kohima visited the quarantine facility at Meriema today to monitor the ongoing progress and preparedness. The Principal Secretary Home also inspected the COVID-19 Hospital in Chedema, he stated.

He said that all efforts are being made to expedite delivery of essential medical equipment’s and accessories including airlifting of consignments with the help of Government of India.

He conveyed to the citizens of the State that the situation regarding availability of the essential goods and commodities across the State continues to remain normal and added that if any shortage in any particular commodity was anticipated, the District Administration will take corrective actions in advance so that availability continues to be comfortable.

Neiba Kronu thanked the citizens of the State for following the various measures imposed for enforcing lockdown in the State. Stating that the lockdown measures may be creating difficulties and hardships; he reiterated that the lockdown was vital for ensuring that the Novel Corona virus does not spread in the State. He further appealed for continued co-operation from all the Village Councils, Colonies and Wards in the towns, Faith Based Organization, the Business Community and everyone else for ensuring adherence to the lockdown measures. He also informed that the State Government has been receiving from Nagas presently outside the State for help and intervention for the hardships being faced by them because of the country wide lockdown and added that suitable and prompt actions in coordination with the administration and police authorities of those States were being taken to sort out such problems.

He stated that the 24X7 State Level Control Room during COVID-19 lockdown was functioning since 25th March 2020 and to contact the numbers 0370-2291122 and 0370-2291120 for any grievance being faced with regard to availability of essential commodities, goods and services, transport well as any other issue arising due to the lockdown.
