On 5th December 2023, in a festive tradition, the Mokokchung Municipal Council, in collaboration with the Seasonal Club, announced the organization of the 50th Edition of the Inter-ward Christmas Cake Race on December 23, 2023. The event will commence at 7:00 AM at the Main Police Point in Mokokchung.

 

Following the race, there will be a Fancy Dress Competition themed "The Visit of the Three Magi." All wards have been warmly invited to actively participate in these celebrations, embracing the spirit of joy and peace. Detailed guidelines for both events are provided below:

 

Guidelines for Inter-ward Christmas Cake Race:

 

The race is exclusively open to bona fide residents of the respective wards of Mokokchung municipality. Each participating team must consist of 2 girls and 9 boys, totaling 11 runners. Runners in positions 1 & 2 must be female participants. The name list of participants, duly signed by the Ward authority in the provided format, must be submitted by December 20, 2023, to the Technical Committee.

 

All participants are required to report to the Main Police Point at 6:30 AM. Military and uniformed personnel are barred from participating in the race. Disqualification will occur for crossing marked lanes by receiving partners and for throwing batons. Chest numbers will be determined by Draw-of-Lot. Certificates with cakes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, with consolation prizes of cakes for all participating teams. In case of a dispute, the decision of the organizers shall be final and binding.

Guidelines For Fancy Dress Competition Organized By Mmc:

 

The competition is exclusively open to bona fide residents of the respective wards of Mokokchung municipality. Each team is allotted a maximum of 3 minutes for their presentation. Participants from each team must make a round of the Main Police Point during the competition. All competing teams are encouraged to display their creativity and uniqueness.

 

The name list of participants, duly signed by the Ward authority in the provided format, must be submitted by December 20, 2023, to the Programme Committee. All participants are required to report to the Main Police Point at 6:30 AM. Serial numbers will be determined by Draw-of-Lot. Certificates with cakes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, with consolation prizes of cakes for all participating teams. In case of any dispute, the decision of the organizers shall be final and binding.
