The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, in collaboration with Nagaland Sports, organized a two-day EPIC Tournament and New Voter Registration Drive at the Zunheboto Government College campus. The event, held on November 11, aimed to raise awareness about the electoral process and encourage new voter registrations, particularly among the youth.
The program was chaired by Chinglem Konyak, EAC Zunheboto. DC & DEO, Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS delivered the welcome address, where he stressed the importance of voting in shaping the future of the state. He emphasized that voting is not just a right but a critical responsibility in choosing the leaders who will represent and serve the community.
A special number was presented by Bisalee Thonger, AEO, followed by District SVEEP Icon, Linovi Kiba, delivered an inspiring speech. Miss Kiba highlighted the importance of voter registration, encouraging citizens to register either online or offline and become responsible participants in the democratic process.
President of the Nagaland Sports Association, Christine Mirucki shared the event's vision and introduced the activities of the day. Patrick, a key speaker emphasized the importance of commitment and discipline, especially in sports, and encouraged the youth to actively engage in training, particularly for futsal. He stressed that sports not only bring people together but also foster a sense of responsibility and teamwork.
The first day of the event featured fun games designed to promote team building, participation, communication, and enjoyment. The games were aimed at fostering a sense of unity and encouraging young people to take responsibility for their roles in society, including voter registration.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Rhobi Sangtam, SDO (C), who expressed gratitude to all participants, organizers and attendees.
