The Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) officially inaugurated its new academic building with Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Higher Education & Tourism, Government of Nagaland, as the Special Guest.

In his inaugural address, Minister Imna Along termed MCTE a major achievement for the state, noting that students from both within and outside Nagaland will join the college to receive quality education. Expressing strong hope for the institution's future growth, the Minister highlighted upcoming development projects by the Higher Education Department, including a 40-bedded Girls Hostel at MCTE under the PM-USHA scheme, a new Model College in Mangkolemba, and various other projects across multiple districts. He also made a strong appeal for unity among the Naga tribes, urging them to come together for a common agenda to ensure the betterment and growth of the state. Concluding his speech, he paid rich tributes to past and present teachers, describing them as "soldiers" who sacrifice their time, hands, and thoughts to mould students and build the future of our communities.

Earlier in the day, the formal programme commenced after the Minister officially unveiled the inaugural plaque. The event was chaired by Sekulu Nienu, Assistant Professor at MCTE, and began with a dedicatory prayer offered by Rev. Temsuwati, Pastor of MTBA. Dr. T. Alemla Longkumer, Principal of MCTE, delivered the salutatory oration, which was followed by a special song titled "Tangula Tasen (New Breath)" performed by the student-teachers. Short speeches were delivered by Dr. Hukato Swu, Joint Director (Planning, Budget & Accounts) from the Directorate of Higher Education, and a technical report was presented by the Executive Engineer of PWD (Housing), Education Division, Kohima. The successful event concluded with a formal note of gratitude delivered by Mr. Kerilhusa Peseyie, Assistant Professor and IQAC Coordinator at MCTE.
