Noklak celebrated the 80th Independence Day Celebration on August 15, 2026 at Public ground, Noklak, with Advisor, Social Welfare Government of Nagaland, Wangpang Konyak as a special guest.

On his arrival, Wangpang Konyak hoisted the National flag and took Rashtriya salute from eleven parade contingents and read out the Independence Day speech.

The parade contingents was led by Parade Commanders- Rilise  Sangtam 'D' Coy Commander - ABI 3rd NAP, Noklak. The parade contingents and parade commander consisted of 32nd Assam Rifles; DEF 3rd NAP Noklak; Wonthoi NVG; Langnok NVG; GHSS NCC; GHS,  Noklak village NCC; St. Paul School (Girls); Christian Higher Secondary School; Holy Angel School; St. Paul School (Boys) and Frontier Pipe Band NVG.

During the event, Wangpang Konyak gave away the Best Farmer Award for the year 2026 to three outstanding farmers, C. Langshen Khiamniungan from Noklak Block for Transforming Livelihood through Arabica Coffee, Shahoto from Thonoknyu Block for Subsistence Farming to a Model Integrated Farm, and Khaoshai from Panso Blocks for Integrated Farming for Sustainable Livelihood.

The Advisor Inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by various departments and Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Later He also flagged off the Agri-Link Transportation Truck, a special initiative by the district level implementation and monitoring committee to provide logistic support to the local farmers, promote entrepreneurship and generate employment under Chief Minister's Micro Finance Initiative. A total of 15 vehicles for the district were launched.  He also flagged off the Har Ghar Tiranga Rally.

Other highlights of the day were Special songs Presented by Penglang TM and 32nd Assam Rifles Jazz Band.

To mark the occasion, various departments visited District Hospital Noklak and the programme ended with a retreat.
