The 80th celebration of the Indian Independence Day was celebrated at ADC’s Office Complex Medziphema, Sub-Division, Chumoukedima on 15th August 2026. The national song was sung and played during the celebration. ADC Medziphema, P James Swu graced the occasion.

On his arrival, the ADC hoisted the national flag and took the Rashtriya Salute along with the singing of the National Anthem and delivered the Independence Day speech. The parade contingent 15th NAP (IR) 'C' COY Mahila Battalion Chumukedima was led by HAV C. Yangpila, while a cultural presentation of folk song ''Enchanting Wild Flower" by Lotha Women's group.

The celebration of Independence Day concluded with the National Song Vante Mataram. All the Head of the Departments and Government employees, Medziphema Town Council Members, GBs and Public were present during the celebration.
