The 80th Independence Day celebration was observed in at Public Ground, Seyochung, Kiphire on 15th August 2026. The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chumiamo Humtsoe NCS, hoisted the national flag and delivered the Independence Day speech.

He also took the Rashtriya salute from three parade contingents, St. Mary High School and New Monger Village Guards with Tsaliba as parade commander. He also formally inaugurated the exhibition stalls set up by Yongpi SHGs, NSRLM Sitimi block, Department of Agriculture, Horticulture and St. James church Phisami.

All the head of the departments, public leaders, GBs, VCCs and NGOs attended the function.
