The monthly meeting of the Mokokchung District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was successfully conducted on 27th August 2026 at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall.

The session was chaired by Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman of DPDB Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS. The proceedings commenced with a thorough review of the minutes from the previous meeting, followed by an official discussion on the Action Taken Report.

During the session, the board officially approved the registration of two local societies namely, the Chuchuyimpang Students Union Society and the Woods Foundation based in Kumlong Ward.

Additionally, the house approved the change of nomenclature for Hills Night High School, which will now be known as Hills High School. Alongside the name change, the board cleared the shifting of the school from Arkong ward to Nokra Compound in Chuchuyimpang.

Briefing the board on upcoming activities, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Atsungba Walling shared details regarding the upcoming Inter-Departmental sports meet. The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 29 to October 1, 2026. The ADC informed the house that a 24-member committee has already been set up to supervise and manage the sports event.

The meeting also featured a detailed PowerPoint presentation by the District Project Officer (DPO) of Land Resources Development (LRD), highlighting various departmental activities and achievements. It was decided that the Horticulture Department will present its departmental activities in the next monthly meeting.

The session concluded successfully with a vote of thanks from the Deputy Commissioner.
