Along with the rest of the country, Teacher’s Day was celebrated at Town Hall Tuensang on 5th September 2026, with Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa as Special Guest. The Programme was organised by the District Education Office, Tuensang.
Speaking at the program, Lithrongla, extended warm greetings and shared words of appreciation to all the Teachers for their dedication and pivotal role in moulding the future generations. Asserting that only Teachers can understand the sufferings and pain of the students, she said it is the duty of the Teachers to provide a safe place at school for the student so that the students have confidence to learn and be successful in the future. The DC also encouraged the schools to start early childhood education so that the students will develop a strong cognitive foundation and social skills from an early stage. She further said that the responsibility of Teachers is to build and mould the students’ life and urged the teachers to update and upgrade themselves with technology knowledge along with the changing time in the new computerized era.
Earlier, invocation was proposed by Yambe Pastor, Mupüng Baptist Church and the welcome address by P. Lohe Chachie, DEO Tuensang. Special presentations were presented by GHSS Hakushang, Baptist Thangyen Higher Secondary School, Holy Angel School and Tulip Residency Academy Tuensang. Other highlights include, honouring of Teachers from GMS Station ll, presentation of District Teachers Award 2026, Special Prayer for Teachers by Rev. Sangkap, Pastor TTBL, a vote of thanks from Tiarenla Sangtam, Sr. SDEO Tuensang and benediction by Tsathingla Women Pastor, Sangtam Baptist Church.
