The Assam Rifles, COB Phelungre Village of Kiphire District Battalion, organised a Free Medical Camp at Phelungre Village, Kiphire District, Nagaland, on 8th September 2026 as part of its continued commitment towards the welfare and well-being of the local populace. The initiative aims to provide accessible healthcare services to villagers residing in the remote and undeserved areas.

During the camp, a total of 150 villagers and 30 students of the Government Primary School (GPS) underwent check-ups and received free medical consultations, medicine and basic health advice. Special attention was accorded to the students through health screening and medical assessments. The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from the local community, highlighting the importance of such healthcare initiatives in remote areas.

The medical team interacted with villagers and encouraged them to adopt healthy lifestyles and seek timely medical attention when required. Refreshments were also provided to all participants.

The initiative reaffirmed Assam Rifles' unwavering commitment to the health and welfare of the people of Nagaland, while strengthening trust, goodwill and cooperation between the security forces and the local community.
