The 3rd quarterly National Lok Adalat was held across the state of Nagaland with a total of 444 cases were taken up and a total of 387 cases were disposed amounting to a total settlement amount of Rs. 52566901.2. Out of which 318 cases at pre-litigation were disposed and 69 cases at pending were disposed.

11 benches were set up in the district headquarters of the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) under the aegis of the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) on 12th September 2026.

The success of the disposal rate in the National Lok Adalat in Nagaland today is about 87%

Cases taken up were at pre-litigation stage including bank recovery cases, loan recovery and telephone bills and those at pending stages were criminal compoundable offences, MACT and other civil cases.

Tuensang DLSA conducted the 3rd Quarterly National Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex, Tuensang. Somet Chumden Chang, NJS, Principal District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, was the Presiding Officer. Tsaliba, NJS, Judicial Magistrate First Class-cum-Secretary, along with P. Herola, Retainer Lawyer, and Ayangla, Panel Lawyer, served as conciliators. The State Bank of India (SBI), Main Branch and Bazar Branch, and Nagaland State Cooperative Bank (NStCB) participated. A total of five cases, involving an outstanding amount of Rs. 23,19,547, were taken up, and all five were disposed of with a settlement amount of Rs. 8,61,913.

Zunheboto DLSA conducted the 3rd Quarterly National Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex, Zunheboto. Atoka Achumi, NJS, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, ZDLSA, and Vesutolu Therie, NJS, Judicial Magistrate First Class-cum-Secretary, ZDLSA, were the Presiding Officers. Easter H. Yepthomi and Vilibo K. Zhimo served as conciliators. A total of five pre-litigation bank recovery cases were taken up, all of which were disposed of with a total settlement amount of Rs. 20,63,645.

Mokokchung DLSA conducted the 3rd Quarterly National Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex, Mokokchung. Victo Sema, NJS, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, MDLSA, was the Presiding Officer. Atenla Ao, JMFC, also attended the Lok Adalat. Watitemjen, Retainer Lawyer; Temjenkokla, Panel Lawyer; Mapujungla; and Chubarenla served as conciliators. Altogether, 11 pre-litigation bank recovery cases were taken up, of which 10 were disposed of with a total settlement amount of Rs. 8,85,610.

Mon DLSA conducted the 3rd Quarterly National Lok Adalat at the DLSA Front Office, Mon. Nokshei Kano, NJS, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, MDLSA, and Wokono Yhoshii, NJS, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA Mon, were the Presiding Officers. Angun Konyak, Retainer Lawyer; N. Mannon, Chief LADC; and M. Moba, Deputy LADC, served as conciliators. A total of 19 pre-litigation and litigation bank recovery cases were taken up, of which 16 were disposed of with a total settlement amount of Rs. 48,78,450.

Phek DLSA conducted the 3rd Quarterly National Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex, Phek, on September 12, 2026. Duvelu Vero, NJS, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, Phek DLSA, and Kilemsungla Jamir, NJS, JMFC-cum-Secretary, Phek DLSA, were the Presiding Officers. Vethothi Vero, Chief LADC, Phek DLSA, and Thukutalu Chizo, Panel Lawyer, Phek DLSA, served as conciliators, assisted by PLVs. A total of 37 pre-litigation bank recovery cases were taken up and all 37 were disposed of, with a total settlement amount of Rs. 35,41,222.

Wokha DLSA conducted the 3rd Quarterly National Lok Adalat at the District Court, Wokha, on September 12, 2026. Vitsino Iralu, Judicial Magistrate First Class-cum-Secretary, WDLSA, was the Presiding Officer. Panel Lawyers Shanchobeni P. Lotha and Abigail Lotha served as conciliators. Renbemo Tungoe, APP, Wokha; Libeni B. Jungio, LADC; bank officials; and PLVs of WDLSA were also present. Five pre-litigation bank recovery cases were taken up, of which four were settled. In addition, five pending trial criminal compoundable cases were taken up, of which three were settled. The total settlement amount was Rs. 1,91,500.

Peren DLSA conducted the 3rd National Lok Adalat at the Nagaland State Cooperative Bank, Jalukie, on September 12, 2026. Khrievono Seletsu, NJS, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, PDLSA, was the Presiding Officer. A total of 51 pre-litigation bank recovery cases and one pre-litigation dispute relating to electricity bills were taken up. Of these, 42 bank recovery cases were settled and disposed of, with a total settlement amount of Rs. 16,23,400.

Longleng DLSA conducted the 3rd Quarterly National Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex, Longleng, on September 12, 2026. Kumdilong Kessen, NJS, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, LDLSA, was the Presiding Officer. K. Bongyei Phom, Retainer Lawyer; Yingloi, Panel Lawyer; and Akongla, Panel Lawyer, served as conciliators. PLV Asangpongjei was also present. Altogether, six pre-litigation cases and four pending litigation cases were taken up, of which six were disposed of with a total settlement amount of Rs. 5,68,957.22.

Kiphire DLSA conducted the 3rd Quarterly National Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex, Kiphire, on September 12, 2026. Holika Sukhalu, NJS, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA Kiphire, was the Presiding Officer. Adv. Ayiala Imti, Chief LADC, and Adv. Limkhushi Thongliu, Retainer Lawyer, served as conciliators. Altogether, 47 pre-litigation bank recovery cases were taken up, of which 44 were disposed of with a total settlement amount of Rs. 14,49,792.

Dimapur District Legal Services Authority conducted its 3rd quarterly National Lok Adalat on 12-9-2026, at the District Court premises. The Dimapur District Legal Services Authority was honoured to have Neiko Akami, Member Secretary who was a part of the Lok Adalat. He gave the introductory note and also highlighted about the advantages of the Lok Adalat and at the same time thanked all the stakeholders and litigants for their active participation and encouraged them to participate in every Lok Adalat conducted to avail the opportunities.

Longshithung Ezung, Chairman and Julian, Secretary of the Dimapur District Legal Services Authority were the presiding officers. The Conciliators were the panel Lawyers and were assisted by the PLV's. Altogether 152 cases were disposed. 123 cases of Bank recovery, 3 MACT cases, 25 BSNL cases, and 1 pre-institution (mediation & Conciliation). The total amount settlement is Rs.1,71,30,176. only.

The Kohima District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) conducted its 3rd Quarterly National Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex, Kohima. Haiyale Kath, Panel Lawyer welcomed the beneficiaries and Bank Officials. Mezivolu T. Therieh, Principal District & Sessions Judge, NJS, and Chairperson, Kohima DLSA, was the Presiding Officer. She gave a brief note on Lok Adalat and how the public should avail benefits using Lok Adalat as platform rather than fearing it.

A total of 52 bank recovery cases, 8 BSNL cases,1 Commercial Suit, 1 NI Act case were settled, with a total settlement amount of Rs. 19,372,236. only
