The Draft Publication of the Photo Electoral Roll, with October 1, 2026 as the qualifying date, was held on September 20 at the Office Chamber of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur. The programme was attended by Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Dimapur, along with representatives of all recognised political parties in Dimapur district.

Also, present were Dr. Diana Patton, ERO & ADC; Khiuzan Kaurinta, AERO & EAC; and Toshimongba Longchar, AEO.

While briefing the political party representatives, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang said the electoral roll revision exercise had commenced in August.

He said that if any eligible person had been missed during the exercise, an opportunity would be provided for further enrolment. He informed that adequate time would be given for filing claims and objections and urged the political parties to scrutinise the draft electoral roll carefully and bring any discrepancies or issues to the notice of the election office.

Dr. Chang clarified that the draft electoral roll published on September 20 was not the final electoral roll, and that the process of receiving claims and objections would continue. He informed that the final electoral roll would be published in November.

Dr. Chang also emphasised the importance of disseminating information about the electoral roll revision process to the public and called upon the political parties to extend their cooperation and assistance to the election office. He said the election office and political parties had been working together in the past and urged them to continue the same spirit of cooperation throughout the revision exercise.

As per the summary report of the draft publication during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026, the total number of electors in the three Assembly Constituencies of Dimapur district stood at 1,25,703 in 2025. During SIR 2026, a total of 36,629 electors were deleted. Following the deletions, the current total number of electors in the Draft Roll 2026 stood at 89,074.
