The Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, in collaboration with the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), organised a programme for Advocate and Advocates Clerk eCourts on 25th September '2026 at the Nguyusem Multipurpose Hall, Kohima.

The programme, chaired by Kezhosano Kikhii, Advocate, comprised an ECT (Electronic Court Technology) training session, presentation and launch of digital initiatives, and a panel discussion on Article 371A of the Constitution of India.

During the session on the presentation and launch of digital initiatives, Justice Devashis Baruah, Judge, Gauhati High Court, launched the digital initiatives, including Court e-Malkhana, High Court e-CarPass System and RTI Portal for the District Judiciary of Nagaland.

Speaking on the digital initiatives, Justice Baruah highlighted the importance of Court e-Malkhana, stating that the initiative would help immensely in the management and handling of case-related properties and contribute to greater efficiency, transparency and accountability in the judicial system.

On the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, Justice Baruah described it as a vibrant and important legislation, emphasising that access to justice, access to transparency and access to information are important components of a fair and accountable system.

Earlier, Ajongba Imchen, Registrar, Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, delivered the welcome address, while Boduve Peter Resu, Joint Registrar (Judicial) & CPC, eCourts, made the presentation on the digital initiatives.

The programme also featured a panel discussion on Article 371A of the Constitution of India, with Senior Advocate and President, High Court Bar Association, C.T.Jamir and T.B. Jamir, Advocate, Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, as distinguished panellists. Advocate Toshi O. Longkumer, Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, moderated the discussion.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Neiko Akami, Member Secretary, Nagaland State Legal Services Authority.
