In view of the reports of measles cases detected in the Sub-Division, and with the objective of curbing further spread of the disease, a sensitisation programme for all stakeholders was conducted at the ADC Conference Hall, organised by ADC Office, Tizit, on 7th October 2026.
SDO (Civil) Tizit, Tumpen P Tsanglao delivered the introductory speech. Highlighting the importance of the vaccines, he said inviting various civil society and church leaders is important because their platforms are among the easiest and most trusted ways to sensitise communities and create awareness.
Dr. Wungyong Konyak, DPO RCH (UIP) Mon, explained in detail how antibodies are developed in the human body and highlighted the importance of administering the recommended vaccines during the early stages of life.
Surveillance Officer, WHO, Dr. M. A. H. Azhar, who also attended the programme informed that the vaccination will commence from 12th October 2026 in all the villages and School under the sub division.
The sensitisation programme was attended by government officials, representatives from schools, colony Chairmen, GBs, and Church workers.
