Inauguration of New Axis Bank, Zunheboto branch cum dedication programme of Y. Y Tower at Center point, was held at Zunheboto town was done by Agriculture Production Commissioner(APC), Y. Kikheto Sema, IAS in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo, IAS and various other public and religious leaders on 11 February 2022. While speaking at the programme, Kikheto stated that Zunheboto, though being the core of Nagaland, lagged behind others in numerous aspects comparatively. He appealed for a positive common community mindset to bring about change and development in the district. 

He said it was an appreciable gesture from Axis Bank to accept the request of the people inhabiting the district for setting its branch even though the district lagged to meet all the eligibility criteria. 

He also urged other banks including Axis to focus on the business prospects and invest in the development activities of the remote North-East states including Nagaland through CSR funds which would tremendously benefit the people. He added that banks are the best custodian of our money and act as a guide in various investments, he urged the people to maintain good relations with the banks and make the best use of their services. 

He informed that Y.Y Tower is dedicated to his late father and thanked his all those who gave valuable contributions, particularly Khehoshe H. Yeputhomi for his constant supervision and monitoring in completing the building. 

He added that a portion of the building has been set up for the usage of the people of Zunheboto, irrespective of religious denomination, political and social affiliations etc. Therefore, he appealed to the people on behalf of all his family members not to misuse the facility but to take care of it with a sense of belongingness and use it for the welfare of the community. 

Earlier, short speeches at the inaugural programme were delivered by Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo IAS and Cluster Head, Axis Bank, Dimapur, Ajit Kumar Manmohan Thakur.

Later, APC along with other dignitaries visited Skill Development Project Training and Establishment of Handloom at Zunheboto sponsored by 32 Assam Rifles and Zunheboto GB association.
