World no Tobacco Day 2022 will be observed across the State on 31st May 2022. The theme for this year is “Tobacco- A threat to Environment." Dr. C Tetseo Additional Director and state nodal officer stated that the District Tobacco Control Cell in all districts would be organizing different activities including competition and awareness programmes in districts and block headquarters during the week that will culminate on 31st May 2022. In addition to district-level activities, the State Tobacco control cell would be organizing a state-level Picture and caption competition on the theme. The competition is open to all school and college students in the state and cash prize and certificate will be awarded to the best three. The picture and caption can be submitted online to stccnagaland@gmail.com by 31st May 2022. Dr. Tetseo also stated that Tobacco use among school students is on the rise and so he makes an appeal to all schools and colleges in the state to organize some activities to create awareness and also to mark the day and also give good publicity on their own.
